Revisit Third Roundtable on Reimbursement of Health Apps

The roundtable was chaired by Tatjana Prenda Trupec, former general director of health insurance in Croatia, and counted 66 participants. Our coordinator Petra Hoogendoorn (Leiden University Medical Center) co-chaired the session with Tatjana. 
 To support the aim of more efficient funding to fuel quality supply, this third roundtable was focussed on recommendations on
reimbursement and payment for citizen/patient-facing health apps (prevention, self-management, healthcare-related).
 
In the introduction, consortium members and DG SANTE
set the scene by outlining Label2Enable's achievements, as well as the EU
context regarding European Health Data Space and legislation on app
reimbursement. Speakers: Antoni Dedeu (WHO Regional Office for Europe), Ole Norberg Gjerrestad (DG SANTE - EU Health and Food Safety), Petra Wilson (HIMSS).
 
The second part provided decision-makers perspectives from Humber and North Yorkshire, Croatia, Catalonia and Portugal, with speakers Carrie Cranston (NHS Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), Siniša Varga, (former Minister of Health, Republic of Croatia), Jordi Piera Jiménez (Catalan Health Service) and Henrique Martins (former president of SPMS, EPE - Serviços Partilhados do Ministério da Saúde).
 
Finally, participants discussed recommendations on the reimbursement of apps. We will keep you posted on the final version!
