Revisit the second multi-stakeholder workshop

On 26 June 2023 Label2Enable held its second multi-stakeholder workshop “Preferred future of health and care in 5-10 years and the role of digital health quality labelling“ in Brussels, Belgium.

The workshop was chaired by the Label2Enable coordinator Petra Hoogendoorn (Leiden University Medical Center) together with Zoi Kolitsi (The European Institute for Innovation Through Health Data) and Romy Willemsen (Leiden University Medical Center).

For this second edition, the workshop brought together over 50 participants - in Brussels and online.
 
The workshop kicked off by positioning the topic within the wider context of providing clear information about quality of products to consumers. Stamatis Sivitos, DG ENER presented the EU Energy label journey, followed by Petra Wilson, who introduced the topic of labelling within the European Health Data Space. Gözde Susuzlu Briggs (European Patients'​ Forum) and Antanas Montvila (Kaunas Klinikos) presented on input from the user and healthcare advisory board which is engaged in the projects and helps bring in the patient perspective.
 
Covering updates on Label2Enable's recent work, Ieva Biliunaite (Leiden University Medical Center) presented results from the project's recently conducted healthcare professional survey. Paul Weston (ORCHA), Menno Kok (EIT Health) and Vania Putatti (EuroHealthNet) elaborated on current label testing with app manufacturers and citizens, respectively.
 
In two breakout sessions, physical and online participants brainstormed on the preferred future for digital health and health app labelling, discussing concrete ways to get there.
